Before every family portrait session I connect with each family to learn more about what they enjoy doing together and also what type of images they enjoy the most and would love to display in their home. Do you prefer more traditional portraits that have you looking and smiling into the camera or do you prefer emotive photographs that allow for interaction with each other, touching and laughing together and show the connection within the family. Daniel and Natalie, like most of my families wanted a mix of both and so that is what we went for during this hour long session.
Just at the edge of Warwick School District (Lititz, PA) nestled in the woods lives Micah’s Grandmother. The entire backyard just popped with fall colors which created the perfect backdrop for most of Micah’s senior pictures. It was great fun listening to Micah share about his involvement in dance and music at school and sing one of his favorite pieces for me.
Building my family portrait photography business, Heike Martin Photography, this past year could not have happened without you. I am incredibly grateful to all of you who encouraged me to trust in my skills as photographer and take this risk. Enjoy a glimpse through the different sessions and check out the referral rewards program I’m offering to past clients.
One of the first things I do when I visit new friends is look at pictures hanging on their walls, stuck on the refrigerator and standing on shelves. Pictures tell me quite a bit about their family and what they like to do together. Sometimes I find images of Grandpa and Grandma on their wedding day or a family reunion that brought many generations together for once-in-a lifetime face to face visits.
This is what lifestyle photography is all about. Documenting moments in your life that hold special meaning. Macy, Stella and Pippa get to build their own fairy gardens with Grammy Marian every year. It’s an annual tradition by now and one that all four are looking forward to.
